The plaster is pulling on the Lathing. The Lathing is pulling on the Studs. Studs are likely on a 16" center, so I doubt you would bow out the plaster. Wood Lathing is 100X stronger than metal Lathing.

Oh, so like don't try to place the anchor in between the lathing gaps? Actually drill through a piece of the lathing?
Or does the lathing typically not go all the way around the wall?
