They're trying to get you away from cash and making you think Bitcoin is some "anonymous" crypto thing when in fact every transaction is broadcast over the internet for everyone to see.
It's like having a credit card with your transactions being broadcasted on TV 24 hours a day. This is retarded.
There's more attack vectors than hacking the network.
The mining farms are very concentrated. Blocking their ISPs, cutting their power, anything to disrupt the network.
Take down half the network and the difficulty adjusts, but in the mean time it takes weeks or months to confirm a transaction.
If you make it unusable, it becomes worthless.
The biggest issue with bitcoin is bad code. If another inflation bug is found and someone decides to exploit it then say bye bye to the monetary value of any blockchain
