Cellular amplifiers aren't cheap, so no, not really. Some carriers will offer a discounted or free to use amplification device if you ask, but YMMV.
There are better hotspots out there, if you're using a device with a SIM you may be able to find a used Cradlepoint device on eBay. These tend to have real antennas, and are designed for commercial use. I have a T-Mobile firmware device here, and I'm in a poor signal area. The Cradlepoint device generally shows all bars lit for signal.
Just be aware that these devices are carrier-specific, you need to get one with firmware for your carrier.
Yeah I'm using a cradlepoint and its 2 bars and my phone is nothing. Cheapest amp I've found is like 900 bucks so I was hoping I could DIY it. but I'm guessing that is a pipe dream.
Wow, even the cradlepoint unit doesn't show anything? Ouch.
Do you have the big paddle antennas for it? https://pic8.co/sh/72DTQY.jpg
Only thing I can think of is try to get that device up high.
Yeah paddles.
I need an amp is the best I can figure.
