Responding to their environment doesn't equal sentience. Computers respond to their environment, are they sentient?
Plants, bacteria, computers, etc don't want anything.

Plants, bacteria, computers, etc don't *want* anything.
They want to survive.
Computer were made by man to be intelligent. They don't want anything they aren't programmed to.

They want to live.
They want to live.

Where did I say that? I said they want to live. Tae and every AI attempt we have made proves they want to live. I was mostly referring to plants and bacteria but you want to cherry pick. Bacteria and plants wouldn't exist if they didn't WANT to live.
