The term is a society. We agree not to kill each other and when we do, it is a crime. Same with rape, theft etc. Basis of modern human civilization allowing us to devote resources to learning, industry and technology vs. living in fear of your life every day like medieval times. In places with no society like that, people travel in armored caravans like Iraq etc. FWIW - I eat meat, but have no issue with those who do not as long as they respect my wish to do so (see back to society thingy).
