There weren't NEARLY as many deadly diseases / ailments then though. Mostly because people had functioning immune systems and healthy bodies.

Wrong. Mostly because people didn't transfer illnesses from one lonely corner of the world to another. Without a doubt, people had to deal with way less poisoning for several reasons back then. But this doesn't prove peoples immune system was better back then.

I it literally does. Salmonella, White a thing, want a thing that mattered. Ecoli, the pork one etc. Because humans immune systems functioned. Raw meat was perfectly safe, a bit of dirt was fine.
