I didn’t say it wasn’t important, I just pointed out how sad it is that a person’s self worth is completely wrapped up in something that will ultimately fade. And yes you are right, everything goes in the end, so what are we to do about it? You can either throw your hands up in the air and say “screw it we are all going to die anyways so what’s the point” or you can make the best use of your time, keeping this in mind: that everything done in this world will eventually fade, and that your time here on this earth has a purpose. This life is an opportunity for you to grow in wisdom and humility. Those are the things you will be taking with into the next life, not your physical strength or your beauty or your money or your wealth or even your ego. “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” 1Cor 15:50 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
