I grew up in the american south. Kielbasa was fancy, generally sliced and pan fried or grilled. See no one boiled kielbasa... they boiled hot dergs. Oscar Meyer, nathan's, etc and it was generally done to cook a bunch for multiple people. Poor is poor. Boiling a kielbasa is both horrific and something too fancy for my upbringing.
Yeah, I’ve had it boiled before but it’s always better fried or grilled
Amen!
I only ever had it boiled as a kid and fucking hated it. Eventually my family discovered you could fry it in a pan and now I tolerate it. Sauerkraut is still out though. That shit is disgusting. Just give me cooked cabbage. You don't need to ruin it.
Love me some good sauerkraut.
Kaszanka!
Lol! That's the way Mom cooked it! Lol! I wasn't introduced to diced kielbasa on the grille until I was out of high school.
For your sake I hope this was the only horror of your childhood. :)
Mom boiled a few things. All were traditional northern New England style bland. But we liked it! Lol!
My grandmother was Irish and she boiled the fuck out of every vegetable no matter what.
My dad would get fresh from Stanleys Meat Market and boil it for a lil bit then grill it to give it that char. No idea why. I just remember the water looking nasty as fuck... but that shit was amazing.
Nice that he grilled it. That's the way. Not sure why he boiled it first, unless it was frozen.
Boil to plump it up, then grill.
Maybe I need to look into this dark magic.
I've had it before, but I would never prepare it that way myself. Really the only time I eat it anymore is when we are having kielbasa & sauerkraut.
Air fryer FTW.
This would absolutely be acceptable.
Cut the length of a hotdog bun cut down the center, fry inside down then put in bun with cheese slice inside.
