Lot's of British and French descendants up here in the sticks. Other than American Foods (Pizza, steaks,, sub shops, greasy spoons) 60 years ago there weren't any Mexican restaurants here, let alone Thai, Vietnamese, Korean or Japanese! Choice of Italian, French or "Chinese" (Americanized) restaurants to "go wild" back in the day. You couldn't find ethnic foods at the grocery store either.
We didn't even have a McDonalds in town until 1977.
