We are not in "unfamiliar territory". The electoral college voted. They voted for Biden.
This is no different than when the electoral college voted for Bush, winning Florida, or any other president in our nation's history for that matter.
You think it's different because your guy got cheated in a, or several, states' popular vote? The states' popular vote doesn't mean shit. The only vote that counts is the electoral college vote.
Bro we are talking about the states pulling back their electoral votes voiding Biden’s win. I’m not talking about the popular vote. It is said Trump won California. That would be 55 electoral votes to Trump and he wins instantly.
Show me, in the constitution, where states can "pull back" their electoral college votes after they have been cast and the election decided. It isn't there, which means, specifically, it can't be done. Show me, in the constitution, a process where "de-certifying" a popular election can result in a withdraw of an electoral vote from 6 months prior. Show me any example of this in our history. You think this is the 1st time a loser felt cheated at the ballot box?
It isn't even reasonable. Oh, so, you decided, 6 months down the road, that you didn't like the outcome of your state's election, so you want to pull back the state's vote? And do what? Reverse the outcome of an election held 6 months ago? Reverse 6 months of legal processes? Reverse 6 months of law making, executive orders, military moves, diplomacy, etc.?
AZ sent delegates. The GOP from AZ also sent alternate delegates. Pence rejected the alternates and counted the votes cast by the AZ delegates. The AZ delegates were under no obligation to vote for Biden, but did, in fact, vote for Biden. The certification, or the later de-certification, of the AZ popular vote election doesn't have shit to do with the vote at the electoral college level. This has been decided before. This isn't new.
Its no different than the Bush decision at the SCOTUS. It doesn't matter if the state's politicos decide later that they voted wrong. The vote is over. Gore lost the only election that matters, the electoral college election. Yes, Gore probably won FL and should have been president, but the FL delegates, who are not bound by federal law to vote iaw state election results, voted for Bush, so Bush won.
You’re having a hard time following and your emotions are getting to you. Your first paragraph says exactly what I said. No where in the constitution is there guidance on how to resolve a fraudulent election that had domestic and foreign interference. Hence my comment “we are in unfamiliar territory”. It’s called a “constitutional crises” when you have a fraudulent and incapacitated civilian government.
