It was a long time ago for me. These were BIG companies, so once it was over it at least looked good on a resume. But damn they were terrible and the permanents were so useless and it was so hard for them to get fired it was practically tenure. Well until the screwups piled up and a mass layoff happens.
After I got my head out of the sand I moved to small companies only. Better work environment, little to no BS or HR faggotry and permanent hire right away.

Yeah I don't know. Covid for me marked an early transition to retirement/semi-retirement. I hadn't even considered it before but I packed up my shit, sold the rest and moved to the country. My old neighborhood has low-cost housing getting built across the street now.
