The problem comes when there is not a criminal behind that breached door. Ordinary citizens sometimes react to violent break-ins defensively. If only there was something we could ban that would prevent deadly mistakes like this.

There is absolutely no reason for this kind of crash and burn entry unless a life and death felony is happening, and a crash at my door Will bring an armed response. Professional Judges and LEOs should know that.

The original justification arose years ago when people would flush drugs before answering the door. The home invasions during sleeping hour were thought to lessen the chance that the wicked drug fiends might "destroy evidence". All of this militarized policing arose from the war against American drug users.

Better police work. The drugs got into the house somehow. That is when the move is made. Actually i am for the practice of shooting drug dealers on sight, and the 'risk' of dealing would shut it down.
