I use a tuner and it's a direct feed, so you can make all the noise you want. It won't phase me any. It won't change my tuning - even a little bit. I haven't not used a tuner (as a general rule) since back when they were $200 devices for a decent pedal operated inline tuner that was rugged enough for the stage and session work.
If I'm just fucking off (don't tell anyone I said this), then I'll probably just tune the guitar to itself and call it good. Shh! You're gonna pretend I never said that and learn how to do it - but always use a tuner.
Said what I didn’t see anything other than I need to use a tuner.
Tune low E (the fat string) to something that sounds like an E.
Move up 5 frets.
Play that. It's an A. Tune the next string to that.
A - 5 frets D.
D - 5 frets G
Now it gets tricky.
G - 4 frets B
B - 5 frets E.
EADGBE.
When you're close, they'll wharble. When the wharble stops, you're close enough.
Always tune up. Never tune down to the note. It'll stay in tune longer.
Thank you for the guide I’m saving that one for later, I’ve heard this tune up thing quite a few times at this point my assumption is it means always tighten the string right?
