Oh, and no cheating. I don't want you looking online to find out where the whole notes are. I already told you where they are. I want you to figure them out for yourself.
No sharps between B and C and no sharps between E and F.
So, on your fat E string...
E F F# G G# A A# B C C# D D# E (Which, curiously enough, lands you one octave higher - on the 12th fret.) That's each fret up the first E string. Now, figure out the rest of the fretboard.
;-)
Yeah, I just gave you homework. chuckles
I'll do it but I'm like 90% sure you told me at some point you were not my guitar teacher, if you are giving me homework I am pretty sure that makes you some kind of guitar teacher. I think you gave me everything I need to figure it out. I'll practice and report back once I have a handle on it. On a side note, someone else has now told me I wouldn't be able to learn so I've even more motivation.
They're wrong.
You can learn. It's just gonna be a bitch.
And, I'm not your teacher. I'm just nudging you to make sure you learn properly. It'll save so much time and effort if you learn the reason why you play what you play instead of just doing a paint by numbers and playing what's on the paper. It's counter-intuitive, but it's really easier in the long run.
Damned good thing that I'm not your teacher. I'd be telling you to turn off the damned computer and practice! ;-)
This is my student and myself:
How do you know I'm not practicing? My guitar is sitting too my right while I type this and the minute I click send I will be picking it back up. It hasn't really left its resting place next to my chair since I got it, Even the 3 and a half hour podcast we did pretty much the whole time I wasn't talking(we use push to talk) I was trying to play something, heck I even played something on the podcast(it was pretty terrible) but we were just bullshitting at that point. Weather you like it or not you are a teacher to me of many sorts, I've learned a ton from our many conversations from voat to here. So really I should thank you for that.
