You have a point, Like a PCI sound card? Usb sound card?
Which ever is fastest for your computer. These days, I seem to recall that bus speeds are higher for USB 3.0 than they are for PCI.
PCIe is even faster. I bought an obscenely priced PCIe card and it did not help - it turned out that I needed the link I shared with you and my original card was not actually the problem. Rather than research, I just bought a new card.
Yes, I sometimes do stupid shit.
But, it's nice. Most any dedicated card seems to be adequate. I don't get any huge benefit from my expensive card.
I should probably add that I've only been recording myself for less than three years, more or less. I never really had any interest in recording myself and when I was recorded it was done by someone else - often a sound engineer.
This is NOT my domain and I'd absolutely encourage you to do some independent research - and then tell me what you learned, 'cause I don't know as much about this subject as I should. I do not write the recording articles for my site. Those are guest articles.
USB 3.0/3.1 kicks the dog shit out of PCI as far as bus speeds are concerned, I think PCIe still beats the shit out of 3.1 I think, m2 drives are good evidence of that.
What stupid shit did you do? I didn't see anything.
I'll probably pick up a dedicated here somewhere honestly I probably have one lying around somewhere.
Well, This IS my domain, hardware I understand. Computer hardware anyway. I can cook up and figure out good hardware. I'll figure this out and I bet I can put together something for you that is better than what you've seen before. I know a few sound engineers I might consult.
The stupid thing I did was buy an expensive card before researching and realizing that the card wasn't the problem.
