Yeah many of our overpasses are not even 14ft which it looks like is the minimum in that link you sent me many are 13 9 and it causes some issues. Closed freeways sometimes.
Those standards are for the Interstate, but urban areas should try to carry those same standards, make it known if they do not, and should have at least one path into their system that does maintain those standards.
The purpose of our federal highway program is military in nature.
I believe us 23 and I75 are federal roads. These are where this has happened at least 5 times that I know of in the past 2 years. It’s crazy really I figured trucks were just getting taller.
I believe I vaguely remember reading about our highway system having something to do with the National gaurd.
