Why is it faster with locking tuners?

"Locking turners" refers to the string locking into the tuner itself. What this means is that you just stick the string in there and it locks itself into place. Then, you just tune it. You don't need to really wind it.

I don't prefer them - but they'll do. They eliminate the need to wrap the strings. You can still wrap 'em, if you want. So, it's optional.

You end up with cramming it in and tuning up - which is about a wrap of a half a turn, saving time.

Ah makes sense, why do you not prefer them? I have to imagine they make things easier.
