Yeah, it does make sense. If you can gain control over something that may have value to someone else, then you have some equity that can possibly be used to bargain for other goods.
At least the cell mates that I got locked in over night with were all decent people and we always got along with no issues. At night they lock you in a small cell with one other inmate, which I am sure you know. I had heard lots of stories about cell mates taking shits at night when they were locked in together or jacking off or fighting or just really stinky people. I was really lucky in that regard.
Imagine high security where you and your cellmate are locked in 23 hours a day, or when there are more than 2 people per cell and you're locked in 23 hours a day.
That'd suck.
That would really suck. But I was in high security for the first three weeks I was there cause of my charge battery to a judge. 23 hours a day in a cell by myself was kind of shitty too.
At least it was by yourself.
Well, I'd prefer that. I do just fine by myself.
I'd need books to read, but I'd be okay.
