Yeah, that's probably why they didn't beat on you

They also didn't know his jaw was broken at the time. So, that presumably helped.

It may have helped that a crowd immediately formed - and only one other cop responded. It wasn't taken all that serious at the time.

It was department policy that sent him to the ER to get checked, which is where they discovered his jaw was broken. It wasn't a giant break or anything, though they did wire his mouth shut for a while.

Not only did I break a cop's jaw and NOT go to prison, I also didn't get my ass whooped.

Both of those things are amazing. I'm not sure which is more unlikely or more a statistical outlier.
