I don't know much about current Windows. The last Windows OS that I used as Vista.
Yeah, it has been that long since I used Windows. Pretty much as soon as I could, I made the switch to Linux.
I also made the switch because when I moved into the area I let it be known what I'd done. So, I became the 'computer guy'. The guy that 'knows computers' to those that don't have the slightest inkling. So, I was constantly getting asked to fix computers. I did, for some of them.
Shortly after that is when I made the switch as it enabled me to say that I don't use Windows honestly.
Yup, that was one of the deciding factors of my moving entirely to Linux. The other is that I loved Unix and we'd used Linux on the servers at work. I had a great deal of appreciation for it.
windows basically runs the same as vista, well after the SP1, 2, & 3 were introduced. They just change the user interface style every now and then. Other than that is is basically the same as far as operating it
Vista wasn't bad once SP1 was released. It was a bit buggy before that.
I'm not a Linux zealot. I just prefer it. I have nothing against Windows. I have nothing against closed-source software. I have nothing against proprietary software.
Windows is a perfectly workable operating system and it's just fine for people to like it and prefer it.
I think more people would like Linux if they actually put the effort in to know about it. I think many people use Windows by default and just don't ever care about trying anything new.
That and, well, these days a ton of computing is done on mobile devices. So, it is what it is. I don't care if someone legitimate likes Windows - but it'd be great if they made a more informed decision.
I don't necessarily like it but i can do everything I want a computer to do for me with it, I can draw my cartoons and animate them, I can mix my songs, I can browse the web. I can write lyrics. That's about all I do
