Here’s something I was working on a little last week. This is also a Radiohead song, which is how I realized I never completed Creep, as it was in the file. The song is Karma Police. It’s more of a semi lo-fi pop version that a friend asked me to do the vocals on.
Always a treat and that one's an interesting choice.
Hmm... I think we've recorded Creep before. I think we may even have a version of it with the band, though I'm not sure if it's me doing vocals. It's a rather dim memory, so the entire thing could be a figment of my imagination.
COF might know.
Yeah I know the feeling. I can never remember what I’ve completed and shared vs projects that I start and never finish, or finish and never shared. Such is life!
We check the archives before making our final decision. More than once have we been prepared to record something we've already recorded. The archive comes in handy.
You did indeed do it with the band. It was dated 8/31/19.
I figured you'd probably know. Thanks!
It's a pretty good song. It's also one of those songs that can be pulled off by a female vocalist. There are way too many covers of the song, but one from us is not quite one too many.
Excellent .. I love the way it's mixed
Thanks Carl. I got to mix this with a pretty broad dynamic range with such sparse instruments in most sections, which was a lot of fun. Thanks for listening once again!
I always enjoy the stuff you bring . I'm a fan !!
Sounds great. Awesome production. Only song I know from those guys is Creep. Never understood their songs. Trippy stuff.
Yeah they’re pretty unique for sure. I’ve never listened to anything from them besides the album OK Computer and Creep, because it used to be on the radio all the time. They have some real interesting chord and melody choices.
They're music feels so dark and sad though. The songs are intricate and intriguing, but over time it seems like they're written for people who have given up hope, and just want to dig a hole and crawl in.
I own several of their albums, but I don't listen to them any more. Maybe it's just the times we live in.
Fwiw, I got to see them at The Gorge at George about 20 years ago.
I've never listened to Radiohead much but since hearing you do these last 2 I might have to give them more attention. Another great job!
My dad is actually really into them. I never really listened to them much either. They’re a pretty unique band, but I do enjoy it once in a while.
Sounds great!
Thanks crazy!
Great job. I like how you toss Yorke's stylings aside for your personal creativity and originality. Radiohead should consider covering your version.
