We check the archives before making our final decision. More than once have we been prepared to record something we've already recorded. The archive comes in handy.

I have a decent filing system on my hard drive now, but the first years worth of recordings was the Wild West before I figured out how to properly create separate projects. There’s all sorts of random songs that I didn’t know how to rename and stuff haha

More than 5 decades of playing... Man, it'd be a pain in the ass to try to sort that.

I do not have a decent filing system. It started poorly. I always figured I'd someday fix it. These days, if I fixed it then I'd not be able to find anything. I've adapted to my shitty filing system.

To make matters worse, we have multiple computers in entirely different states. In theory, anything we generate down here is also saved back home. In theory...

So, to make a short story long, I envy your "decent" filing system.
