Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

Hi guys. I'm kind of busy this week, so here's something I shared a year or so ago on that other site. Have a cool weekend!

[–] 3 pts

You make real good originals. This one has a great feel.

[–] 2 pts

That tune really grinds I like it ... Bravo !

[–] 2 pts

I like it! Cool bass, cool jamming!

[–] 2 pts

Yeah, that rocks! Love the slide in it and the dirty bass, great job.

Same vibe as GnR's Used To Love Her.

I had to put her six feet under And I can still hear her complain

This played fine on Friday night but today I get this when I try to play it:

Backend server error. Application server misconfigured.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Hello everybody! Hope you're all doing great! Earlier this week my friend Chris came over again with another case of Budweiser and his acoustic guitar and he said he learned a new song, so he showed me this riff and I learned it well enough to play it along with him. Then we looked up the lyrics on the laptop and had a go of it and this was the sonic results. I like it a lot, especially for the first time we ever even played the song together, we didnt even listen to it to know where the changes were or how it was supposed to go. I think we nailed it! Here is our version of Steve Earle's

[–] 2 pts

Damn dude vocals are fucking spot on!

[–] 2 pts

Thanks! That's my buddy Chris. It's so much fun to jam out with people who sing! I'll let him know you liked it!

[–] 2 pts

Well done Gentlemen...

[–] 1 pt

Very nice. You picked that up quickly and did a great job. Chris' vocals were damn good on this one.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks COF! It was a magical moment!

[–] 1 pt

I'm pretty sure it's "Copperhead Road".

[–] 1 pt

Road, Street, Lane, Trail, Boulevard, whatever

[–] 1 pt

LOL It's too bad one of the old goats isn't here (he went by many usernames). That's his favorite song, though he'd likely chastise you even more for getting the title wrong.

The intro sounds like bag pipes, but I'm not sure if it's actually played with pipes. Our resident pipe player and myself discussed her recording the intro for me so that I could cover the song.

[–] 2 pts

You rock dude. I dont play any instruments and dont have much interest in these threads but i like seeing them and you building a community. Keep on rocking!

[–] 1 pt

We'll be going on 4 years of every Friday Night later this summer. Hope you'll come back and have a listen again.

Not sure if I posted this song before... it's titled Things You Just Have To Do ( Henrys Song )

https://soundcloud.com/carl-suiter/things-you-just-have-to-do

[–] 1 pt

That was a wonderful powerful song, we al loved it. Thank you for sharing it!

[–] 1 pt

Thank You Sir most appreciated. Sorry for the late reply, it's guitar and bass string change day. You don't realize how badly you've taken care of you instruments until you do a clean and setup. My wife thought I bought another guitar after I cleaned up my EJ 200, and yes I'm duly ashamed. Hope all is well in your corner of the world. I love the stuff You, Chris and Verle have been putting out.

[–] 0 pt

You are most welcome.

I never really clean my guitars much. One of these days I should do that.

[–] 1 pt

This week has been both busy and lazy. We actually have an original in the works, but it's not done yet - and by done I mean we've not even started recording it. We'll pull the lead out of our collective asses and try to have it squared away for next week. Thanks to for opening the thread!

So, we dug something up from the archives. I think this one has only been shared once or twice, and not in a while. It's one of my favorite bands and I think we did a fine job covering it, but I admit I'm biased.

Rock on!

[–] 3 pts

Wow that was some bad ass rhythm guitar playing. Great groove. Girl's got rhythm.

[–] 1 pt

She says thanks. That one is from the archives, so you may have heard it before.

[–] 2 pts

Janes Addiction is one of my go to favorites... As always perfectly covered .... BRAVO !

[–] 1 pt

Damned right, they were awesome. Glad ya liked it. It's actually from the archives, but hasn't been shared much. I think we may have only shared it once.

[–] 1 pt

Also...

I just noticed something. I'm watching Family Guy and they showed the video of the song Life is a Highway. I've seen that video hundreds of times, perhaps more.

In the video, he's playing a Telecaster.

The guitar track for the audio is almost certainly not a Tele. It doesn't have the 'Tele tone'. It distinctly sounds like a Strat.

[–] 1 pt

Yes indeed a Tele has a sound unlike any other. I've always wanted one but my Strat just sits in its case as it is, and I can't bring myself to do that to another guitar. Hope all is well in your corner of the world. Tell the Mrs. I said hello.

[–] 2 pts

Woah, this is all the Princess and she shredded the hell outta it. She never ceases to amaze.

[–] 1 pt

She says thanks and good morning.

[–] 1 pt

Oh, the Barrett-Jackson auction is on the History Channel. I forgot about that.

[–] 1 pt

Sorry I missed it. I assume you didn't participate.

[–] 1 pt

I love this song. One of my favorites. You played that so excellent I was singing along and got through it without getting lost once!

[–] 1 pt

I miss Jane's Addiction. I really do.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah they were super fucking awesome!

[–] 1 pt

Here is another song that my friend Chris and I learned and played the other day. Poison's

[–] 2 pts

One of them easy livin type songs. Great job you all.

Damn dude I heard this song and the solo for Comfortably Numb popped into my head. I would fit like a glove.

[–] 1 pt

Amusingly, I'd considered suggesting that one for you both before. It's an easy song to play so that you can even pull it off while drinking.

Once you get the lead bit down, a similar song is Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive. That's easy to play while drunk, except for the run down the neck between verses. Just master that while plastered and the rest is perfectly doable while shitfaced.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah it is easy as can be. I am sure I could learn the lead if I wanted to

[–] 1 pt

Poison songs are generally pretty easy to play. They were just a hair band after all.

[–] 1 pt

Here is another tune we did that you all will probably recognize. Tom Petty's
