Did you ever find out who's camera that was?

LOL That's the whole point of the story. It turned out that the camera was mine. I was able to figure it out after I discovered that the few pictures stored on the camera were in the camera's memory and not on the SD card. (Something like that. I'm not actually positive.)

I suspect the backpack was also mine, but I didn't recognize it.

And, yeah, the camera turned out to be mine. For the life of me, I can't recall quite how it was deduced but it was deduced that it was mine. I seem to dimly recall that there were pics of the then girlfriend but I think they were on the camera's memory - and I think it was someone else that discovered that the pics were on the camera's memory and not on the SD card. To see the camera's internal memory, you had to fuck around in the menu.
