I like to play with any and all musical instruments that find their way into my hands. I can't say I would be proficient in banjo in half an hour though. I could probably fake it enough to get through a song though

I wouldn't be proficient, I'd just be able to fake it enough to fool someone that doesn't play banjo - and maybe a few beginner banjo players.

I understand. I am sure there are many guitar or bass techniques that could translate to banjo in some way

If someone will explain where the notes are, or if I have time to figure it out on my own, I can kinda play anything I want.

If there's one thing I can do, it's tell my fingers (hands and feet, as well) what to do and have them listen. I've spent a lot of time telling my fingers what to do, so I'm pretty good at it.
