As much as I love the right to bear arms, we really need to find a way to keep them out of the hands of the mentally ill - or we're going to lose the right for everybody.

Well if the customers had been armed he may have been able to be stopped quicker. Apparently there are seven people that have been shot. And the perp has been apprehended

LOL While it's true that there are times when armed citizens help, it's fairly rare for them to actually help in the event of a mass shooter.

So, that's a bold proclamation. If the customers had been armed, there's as much chance they'd have shot the wrong people.

Don't get me wrong. I love firearms. I own a whole lot of them. I just prefer the conversation surrounding them be based in reality. In reality, most folks (even those who carry on a regular basis) aren't very well trained.

Yeah I know that most people are idiots and would probably be firing wildly. I just thought that maybe if the shooter knew that everyone else was armed they may not even try that nonsense in the first place, but you can't reason with insanity so it's probably moot.
