Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

[–] 2 pts

Dude it's always fun listening to you sing and fuck around there at Crazy's place.

[–] 1 pt

[–] 1 pt

Hey Verle!

[–] 1 pt

LOL Hey Verle!

[–] 3 pts

yeap

[–] 1 pt

It's about time you got your own account.

[–] 3 pts

Hey guys, I hope all is well. My new John Deere just arrived so I have to step outside and mow my lawn.

Here's my throw-down for this week. It's a song about a politician in Washington state.

[–] [deleted] 3 pts

This song has a killer groove! Love it! And with a name like Dick King, what's not to love?!

[–] 2 pts

That song was fucking rocking man! I got into that!

[–] 2 pts

My friend Chris came over last night and we had a few adult beverages and whatnot and then this song was requested. Here is a drunken party version of

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

This is the super psychedelic version. This is how it should be played.

[–] 1 pt

I think this is more like the super drunk version! either way I am glad that you enjoyed it!

I had some sort of psychedelic experience the night before this, even though I had not consumed any sort of psychedelic drug of any sort. Yet somehow I was brought to a place that was outside the universe and it was unreal, but it was more real than here is. It was waves of colors and rainbows and numbers. I begged to come back to Earth, and they relented and I am back, but now everything here looks so ridiculously fake and phony that I can't take anything serious anymore. So I been just having fun, what the hell.

[–] 2 pts

That sounds like it should be the original, and the B52s just did a cover and pumped up the bottom end.

[–] 2 pts

LoL that's hilarious and an awesome compliment, Thanks! I don't know why but the Bang Bang parts was played but the recorder missed it

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

I thought I'd drop in a quick contribution this week. Good thing I did! Lo and behold, Verle has his own account!

Here is a traditional Scottish tune. It's played as a flute duet. I played the flute parts on a Muramatsu EX, the guitars are a Taylor 814ce and a Godin Multiac AC Nylon string. The bass is a Dean acoustic bass. The flute and acoustic guitars were recorded in stereo with a pair of SE se8 SDC's, and the nylon string was direct in.

Hello MrHarry! Nice to see you again, hope things are good on the islands and you get to live a happy fun life out there!

Nice tune. I can picture some fine looking lasses dancing to this

Last week, I mentioned doing more classical work. We've been pretty occupied this week, but I had time to lay down one of my favorite pieces. It's a horribly complex piece, but fun to play once you master it.

I doubt we'll be here late tonight. So, rock on!

[–] 3 pts

Beautiful. What brand guitar is that?

[–] 2 pts

That's just a GC32C. That's all I have down here for classical guitar.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

I frigging love this. You know how much I appreciate your classical pieces!

[–] 1 pt

Glad ya liked it! I was saying last week that I needed to do some. They actually take less time than the normal music we've been doing, so that helps quite a bit.

This week's piece is a challenging piece, but it came out okay - I think. Well, at least so far folks like it.

[–] 2 pts

That's totally delightful. It's like some kinda dance song they'd play back in the day for those cool dances they had in France and old time Europe.

[–] 1 pt

It's a wonderful song once you figure out how to play it. It has a weird sort of rhythm that goes with it, but once you learn it then it just sorta fits - like it's the natural thing to play in those circumstances. On the complexity scale, it's pretty high up there - but it's worth learning.

[–] 1 pt

This sounds great! Awesome playing man. I don't know who Diabelli is but a lot of this one reminds me of Mozart. You killed it man. Excellent playing. Fuck yeah!

[–] 1 pt

Awesome playing man.

But of course!

It's a delightfully hard piece on a piano. On a guitar, it's hard as fuck. Anton Diabelli died in the mid 1800s. So, you wouldn't know 'em. I told you that earlier. It's pretty obscure, especially on guitar.

[–] 1 pt

I am not familiar with him at all, but I did listen closely three or four times already and you just don't miss a fucking note... incredible!

[–] 1 pt

Outstanding as usual. Bright and lovely and so skillfully played.

[–] 1 pt

It's a wonderful piece, as are many of Diabelli's works. I'm glad ya liked it - and was pretty sure you would like it.

It's an advanced piece on the piano, and a monstrously difficult piece on the guitar. It required some practice runs (and a bit of remembering) before I could play it at the quality needed for public consumption. There are a ton of 'runs' and they're all different. If you mess one up, you might just as well start over.

Even with the time spent practicing, it was still quicker than doing a full piece with all the different instruments.

[–] 1 pt

Even with the time spent practicing, it was still quicker than doing a full piece with all the different instruments.

Music like this, with your skills, deserves to stand alone with out any other instruments. It allows the listener to focus on both qualities. Of course loud, raucous Rock has it's place and is fun and thrilling but this kind of music/playing is a whole higher level of enjoyment.

Oh shit, did I just practically say "turn that shit down in there, kids". Lol, where did the years go?

[–] 1 pt

Here is another song we jammed out to the other night. It's a Townes Van Zandt song,

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

You know I love Townes Van Zandt. I dig the feel of this tune.

[–] 1 pt

Can I thump my ball sack on the table for rhythm?

[–] 2 pts

Not on MY table, no

[–] 1 pt

You let us on Voat!

[–] 2 pts

You should have your own table by now!

[–] 1 pt

I have one more song that we played yesterday for you all to listen to. A Steve Miller tune,

[–] 2 pts

You guys did a real good arrangement of that song. Kinda reminds me of Take it Easy by the Eagles.
