Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask COF, Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

I just tried to play. 10 minutes later, I realized I was ONCE AGAIN too fuckin tired.

There's always next week. Plan ahead so we can hear you.

Here is our version of the Byrds

60's songs are the best. You can do a ton of them with just a guitar.

You cats could do All I Really Wanna Do. It's cool because you can do it as a girl/boy duet. Get one of them chicks there and have her sing the girl part. It's easy to learn.

[–] 1 pt

I will try to talk one of these women into it!

In honor of theBuddha getting to play in front of a live audience again with his band, my friend Chris and I jammed out by Willie Nelson. The life I love is making music with my friends!

That's the song construction guys sing when they get laid off. You'd get two checks, your regular check and your lay off check. The guys that didn't give a fuck would say, "I never got a check I couldn't use."

Since TheBuddha is off performing for the first time in about a year tonight, I'll post something from the archives. This is one of my personal favorites Aerosmith - Train Kept A Rollin'. Just good old Rock N Roll. Biff even included the crowd noises in the second part and J does the bass work so damn well.

[–] 2 pts

I just love the lead guitar in this one!

[–] 2 pts

On the Aerosmith record, it's actually 2 different guys on the first and second parts and neither of them was Joe Perry.

[–] 2 pts

Was it Whitford? I did not know that!

My friend Chris came over the other day and we learned and played and sang this song the theBuddha requested we play. Here is John Denver version of

[–] 2 pts

Sweet. Chris's voice is really nice on this one, captures John well. Good job.

[–] 2 pts

Thanks. I thought he really sounded great on this song. Its just perfect for his voice range

[–] 2 pts

Damned good Crazy... I might have to add this song to my set list.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks Carl! I am sure you could sing the hell out of that song!

[–] 2 pts

Awesome! I knew it'd fit his vocals.

I'm in sound right now, I'll see if we can queue it up to be played during one of the breaks. It'll be the biggest audience you've ever had! I doubt anyone will notice, but we might as well.

I'm not here for long. I've got shit to do tonight. My VPN was acting up earlier, so I may not be able to connect except by mobile later. We shall see...

[–] 2 pts

Awesome!

That's so fucking cool!

[–] 2 pts

We're gonna open with Kesha (spelling?) "Tik Tok" and then go straight to melting their faces off. J's got the vocals covered well enough.

There's probably 800 people here already. There are more inside. I haven't been inside since changing into my stage clothing.

Freaking great.

Keep up the good work, guys.

Wow, that's gorgeous. Is that an original?

[–] 2 pts

Anji from an old Simon and Garfunkel album.

[–] 2 pts

I read that Nancy Wilson of Heart was inspired by this to do the opening of Crazy On You. I can definitely hear that.

[–] 2 pts

It's done very well. Please come back on Friday nights, we'd love to hear more of what you play.

Sounds cool. Thanks for sharing

So I finally figured out how record/stream Rocksmith. I'm still working on the mixing (especially in the room while I'm playing) but I figured I would upload some stuff for the hell of it and say hi. I'm still alive, we may have changed from goats to bears but the world is still a circus. Glad to see FNGT is still going.

(you can hear too much of Joe and we clash a bit)

And (with my guitar drowning out David in the mix and also in the room so I can't hear the band for shit).

I try to play the songs but all I get is page not found

[–] 1 pt

I fixed it I think? Apparently they weren't published even though it say they are on the main page.

[–] 1 pt

The links are working now. thanks. I will check them out.

I don't know anything about rocksmith, do you just play along with the video game on your guitar and it listens to you and scores you?

[–] 0 pt

Cool. That was interesting. A different way to learn to play these songs. Or a new way to see how much I suck at those songs LoL.

Keep on jamming!

[–] 1 pt

Yeah recording it is a bit of the same revelation for me. Part of it is the mixing (the rhythm parts double track okay but the solos don't) and part is the slop in my playing (I was/am capable of hitting those runs consistently in the Floyd song but I think I only nailed the one) but recording makes the gulf between what's written and what played on the record (especially for the melodic stuff) very apparent. When I'm playing through as long as my line sounds consistent with itself I'm happy then when I listen back to "Can't You See" I'm like "Whoa, he bends that way faster than me on all of these phrases." and you can't miss it because all the dissonance that is happening when you are bending out of sync.

[–] 1 pt

Recording is the way I can tell how much I suck. The tape does not lie.
