Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask COF, Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it.

Hi folks, hope all is well. Happy Friday! I've been running back and forth across this great land training new guys for the past few weeks, and I never know when I'll have time to join in.

I recorded a Frank Black and the Catholics song on my phone. It's a song about the process server.

Horrible Day (soundcloud.com)

[–] 2 pts

Glad ya made it. The song is entirely unfamiliar, but I like it.

[–] 3 pts

I'll try to be more consistent in joining in. This is a cool place to share shit on Friday nights, and if we could somehow coax more folks to join, it'll be killer. Seems like we've had good numbers occasionally in the past.

I just got a Donner envelope filter and a kit-build Klon Centaur, I'm gonna try to make time to dick around with 'em before I have to head west again.

[–] 2 pts

Klon Centaur

That's a great overdrive stompbox, one of the best. I'm not sure how great a kit will be, but hopefully it's quality.

[–] 2 pts

Glad to see ya around again. Great rendition and some awesome whistling to boot.

[–] 2 pts

Awesome song man! I dig it!

[–] 3 pts

I didn't write anything, but I played Pantera half to death. Vulgar Display of Power daily. Don't have any recording gear unfortunately. Not that anyone wants to listen to covers.

[–] 3 pts

Man, I got to see Pantera twice back in Arlington. Bloodiest shows I've ever been to.

Bring on the covers. Record 'em and share!

[–] 1 pt

We like covers. We love covers.

We also like original stuff, but we're pretty open to anything.

We don't even mind shoddy recording, a cell phone works just fine.

[–] 4 pts

Well shit, I've got a budget Dayton condenser mic I used to calibrate everything. If you nigger faggots don't mind low fi recordings I play technically accurate.

[–] 1 pt

We have really low standards.

I've taken pots and pans and beat on them with wooden spoons before.

Welcome to another FNGT! Like normal, we'll go ahead and get you started!

We've still been pretty lazy - or busy. Normally, we'd do any recording in the mornings and I've been out driving every morning. Come afternoons, we're busy with real world stuff, guests, and further obligations. By the time night rolls around, we're done for the day. We barely have time to fit in our regular practices and some short jam sessions.

That's okay. I've got a ton of material that you've never heard. It's just live stuff with BDE and so tonight's a track from the same 4th of July show.

Listen carefully! Somewhere around the 3 minute mark is when I broke a string - playing inebriated and passionately - and you can hear how quickly I deal with it by grabbing the other acoustic off the rack, setting it up, giving it a quick tune (all while muted, of course, I am a pro after all!), and nailing the volume.

BDE - Who Are You (07.04.21).mp3 (share.fngt.gq)

It's a lovely song to play, as you get to be really passionate about it. Quite a bit of The Who is like that. Also, by the time we performed this, it was after our official obligations had ended. So, we've had a few by this point and we're largely just having a jam session with a giant audience.

Rock on, Bears. Rock on!

[–] 3 pts

Freakin' amazing as usual. It's astonishing how great you all replicate such a wide variety of songs, nailing each one. It's no wonder why you all have such a large following and frequently sell-out shows.

[–] 2 pts

We're pretty good at our jobs. Even with the musicians as young as a couple are, they've all got at least a decade playing music. By the time you add it all up, there's gotta be over 100 years worth of experience on the stage.

Hell, by the time we played this, I'm pretty sure we were mostly at least a little tipsy.

Glad ya liked it, and I articulated the obscenity. We ain't sellouts!

[–] 3 pts

When the vocals came in, I thought it was Daltrey. Excellent cover of a great song!

[–] 2 pts

During the listening of that for a moment there I forgot I was listening to theBuddha and his band and thought it was a live recording of theWho!

[–] 2 pts

LOL I can mimic him fairly well. I pat myself on the back a bit with this, but I've gotta someday do a cover of Behind Blue Eyes for y'all. Or find one that we've already done. We perform that one now and again. I nail that fuckin' song!

[–] 2 pts

Fuck yeah man! Sounds great. I didn't even notice you breaking the string!

[–] 2 pts

Right about the 3 minute mark. Just before it, as memory serves, it turns into a 5 string guitar. I slowed down exactly none.

In the guitar's defense, I was beating on it pretty heavily. I finished up what I needed to play and swapped to the other guitar in plenty of time to come back in.

[–] 2 pts

Yeah, what else can you do!

[–] 2 pts

Hello everybody. None of my musical friends came to visit me over the past week so I just went to my studio by myself and made this interesting cacophony, I call it Territialuminorials (soundcloud.com)

[–] 2 pts

Thanks for sharing that link. It helped me discovering a little bug in the expando and it's now fixed. :)

[–] 1 pt

You're welcome. That bug has been there for a while

[–] 2 pts

It certainly was. Unfortunately no one reported it :(

[–] 2 pts

Is that the Epiphone?

[–] 1 pt

Yeah that's the epiphone

[–] 1 pt

I thought it sounded like it. What do you think of it?

[–] 1 pt

Man, that's bright and snappy. Just enough melody changes to keep it interesting and those drum fills keep it driving right along. Excellent.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks COF. I was going to put some lyrics on there but I ran out of time!

[–] 1 pt

Does just fine without any. It stands on its own well.

[–] 1 pt
[–] 2 pts

LOL That's not music you made. Sheesh!

[–] 0 pt

I wrote the tablature for him to learn it.

[–] 1 pt

Here is an original song I think I only shared once some years back. It's one of my favorites on the cd of my songs in my car, so I bet you guys might have forgot this even existed. Here's anticipating (soundcloud.com)

[–] 1 pt

You are correct, about the forgetting bit. I blame drugs and alcohol.

[–] 1 pt

It was only once like three years ago

[–] 1 pt

LOL I don't even remember the songs we have submitted. Damned if I'm gonna remember what other people submitted.

It's like 55° outside and there's a lovely breeze.

Also, I'm probably gonna bounce in a half hour or so.

[–] 1 pt

For some reason, when I tried to post this it said 'no webp links, unsafe' or the likes. I removed the link about donating to Poal and it published just fine.

[–] 1 pt

I've never seen that error message
