If I tried that I wouldn't be able to sing for a month or more. Very well done Sir !
Glad ya liked it and, yeah, by the end of the night my throat and voice are shot. I naturally have a voice that does better in the higher registers, so that helps some. I also don't have the projection it sounds like, that's years worth of learning to take advantage of amplification. I'm actually singing at a lower volume than people think.
I'm not a great vocalists - but I'll do it. I can sing, I'm just not that great. As mentioned many times in these threads, I've had the chance to work with brilliant vocalists. (That has helped me a great deal.) But, it's enough to know my limitations and to know that I'm just not that great.
On the plus side, I can mimic some artists fairly well. Hell, I can even kinda sound like Bob Dylan.
Back in my younger days (believe it or not ) I used to sing some Metal songs Judas Priest .. You Got Another Thing Comin as an example. I've done a bunch of Soul, R&B, Funk but in my "seasoned citizen days " I've gone for the more mellow stuff and mostly the stuff I write. As of late I'm getting the band itch again, I've started contacting people I want to work with, and almost all of them are ready to get started. It's a lot of work, but if you have the right people it can be a whole lot of fun as well. Your vocals were very impressive on a ( for my vocal ability ) an impossible song to sing. I look forward to hearing more tell the Mrs. I said hello.
LOL Good timing. I'm just getting back in. The missus says hello.
Bands are a lot of work, but they're fun. In this case, this is my last. I've taken a fairly young group of musicians and helped them reach the pinnacle - where they make their entire living from their musicianship. I was retired, but I came out of retirement for this and this will (almost definitely) be my last band.
It has been a hell of a ride and I wouldn't have it any other way.
