No it is not far from me at all, not even an hours drive.
When I am in the sim I can maintain speed through the corners if I whip the back end out over braking in the turn. Though I am not a race car driver. I just drive my Jaguar and she is a nice kitty who is very nice to me
In reality, that kind of driving eats your tires in just a few laps - even on the harder compounds. Tire management is one of the most important things you'll deal with on a course,
Yeah on the computer I don't have to worry about that, cause I don't have to pay for them.
Plus in races there's a limited number of tires you get to use - plus it takes time to change the tires.
You can get them cheaper sometimes, but race slicks will run you about 2k for four of them - and they will last about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. You can get more miles out of them by being more careful, but they don't last very long.
Regular people just use regular street tires for track days, more often than not.
