I think they call that 'rolling start drag racing' and it's fucking retarded to do it on a public road.
I agree with ZERO racing on public roads - with the exception of sanctioned racing where the roads are closed to regular traffic. Those are, of course, fine.
It's a bit annoying because of the culture. Tons of people think I want to race their shitty Honda with my $250k Ford GT (or similar). No, I do not want to race you. Yes, my car can eat your car's lunch. No, my manhood isn't damaged when I don't race you.
I have been known to play around with other cars on the road - but not racing them. It's fun when another driver wants to play and you keep ahead of 'em but just barely out of reach so that you know you're not pushing it hard enough to crash - or negatively impact other drivers on the road.
Racing on the roads is right out.
I'm fine with driving fast on the roads - under the right circumstances. That's fine. There's no ego and no desire to push it to the point of crashing. Driving fast is not a bad thing (in and of itself). Racing on a public road is a bad thing.
I have driven very fast on that very road in the past many times, It is a long three mile strait away with no ramps coming on until the bridge so I dont blame them
Yeah, I have no problems with driving fast. It's the racing that I don't like.
Well, that and there's a time and a place for driving fast. There are times and places where you shouldn't do it.
Yeah, for sure, though sometimes someone needs to get somewhere fast.
