So it did break?

Well, you could inspect it for damage - maybe try turning it over manually while listening.

I'm not quite sure how to check for damage without fixing the problem and trying to start it. The timing chain probably isn't all that expensive. The labor will suck, but there are worse jobs to do on an engine.

I can get them for like a hundred dollars on ebay, 120 comes with a new water pump. I am just afraid that i do all that and the fucker still wont run then what. rebuild the whole motor? I don't know. I don't know what to do

It's worth the cost to try the repair before starting to save for another car.

Though you might try listening while turning it over manually. Wait, can you even turn it over manually without a timing belt? I don't think so, so ignore my stoned ass.

Yeah, I'd give the $120 an option before deciding on the Jag's fate. I'd definitely try that first.
