That smooth lead guitarist is me! ;-)
And I just did share it here. Sheesh! LOL I've been insanely busy. I head out for five days, on Wednesday. I'm taking the eldest hoodlum to rally school.
The difference in sound is a few different reasons. One is the tone woods. Another is the kind of pickups - they're humbuckers. One is the density of the guitar.
This is me getting ready for the blues club - we played their twice in a row:
The second time we played Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunday was an afternoon show.
I should have figured it was you! Someday I will come to your house and I will witness the awesomeness that is the TheBuddha playing. Mark my words It'll happen.
Good to know, I'd really like to know the actual physics behind it, research it eventually I bet someone somewhere has done a write up on the physics of it.
Nice. I'll listen to that one later after I finish my studying.
Please please please, take me to rally school! I want to go to rally school. Can you feel the jealousy flowing towards you right now?
I figure it's also a safety issue. We live in the mountains of Maine. Her learning to control the entire car, including loading of suspension or brakes, is a good thing and it will increase her ability to drive safely. So, it's absolutely not all fun and games - there's a deadly serious value in going to learn this stuff.
Hmm...
I don't know of any rally schools in your area. They're not terribly expensive over here. There's Dirt Fish Rally School on the other coast. You might have some local rallycross events, and you could look into those.
Also, there's autocross. Autocross is absolutely something you could start doing today. Well, you could start preparing for it and looking into local events. I'm REALLY confident that you have autocross events within driving distance.
Basically, you drive a course marked out with cones while on a paved parking lot. You can't really hurt anything, except mechanical things if you push too hard. People regularly do this with the same exact car they drive to work every day. You'll only need a helmet. You won't need a roll cage, fire extinguisher, race seat, harness, HANS device, etc...
Oh I've done a metric fuck ton of autocross, its been a few years but I used to do that every weekend. I haven't had anything worth taking in a few years basically since I had kids. No more 2 doors for me. Someday I'll get back into it.
