it would definitely be wise to take notes and set the limit for the ones you want
I have most of that stored mentally - plus I keep ahead of the auction by going over values while waiting for the car to cross the block.
I actually know all sorts of approximate values. I sometimes wonder if I could qualify to be an appraiser. I'm pretty good at it.
But, yeah, I'm likely to take some notes between now and then. I usually do. In the end, I find my notes don't really match up as great as they could. Much of what I buy has to be something I like, something not full value in cost, and something that has a market should I need/want to sell.
You're more looking for cars to add to the collection than vehicles to resell aren't you?
Yes. My main goal is to flush out my collection. However, I won't hesitate to buy something that I can patiently resell at a good profit.
With the price of used cars being what it is right now, I suspect I may have some competition at the lower end of the spectrum.
