Yeah I was talking to my mom about that and she said that if she were in his position that she would try to hold on till Christmas was done cause she wouldn't want the future Christmas' to be haunted by the memory of her dying at Christmas time

Yeah, that seems like the kind of thing he'd do/try to do. That and he loved spending time with family. So, holding onto life for one more family gathering seems like a goal he'd have.

If he is totally incoherent like it sounds, he may not know what day it is, or how close to Christmas he has gotten.

Though he might. One of my friends wives was in a coma for close to a month early this year and she told me she could see and hear everything that was going on, she just couldn't move or speak. Until her husband came to visit one day and said I brought you a present, and it was a T-Shirt with the drawing of me and the naked women that's on some of my soundclouds, I'm sure you know the one. That snapped her out of it!

I figure he'll know it by the number of visits he gets. Plus folks tell him the day. I write at least one message to him (and for him) every day. I write some of the messages for his relatives,.

So, he may know. I'll assume he knows.
