It's a public school. Ideally, my donation would be exclusively for the music department. That too is gonna add complexity.
And, you'd be surprised at who can and can't take donations. For instance, I worked my ass off to be able to donate to the government. I wanted to help further space exploration, so I donated a chunk of money to NASA. They're one of the few that you can actually donate to, but you can't earmark the funds. I wanted it to go to educational resources for NASA but I had to donate to their general funds.
In theory, you can't even pay extra taxes as a donation, as the tax bureaus are supposed to refund any extra.
This school is a public school. So, I have no idea how it will work out. I'll set my lawyer to work on it after the new year.
That's a good job for the lawyer.
I wouldn't even know where to begin beyond contacting the school
I'm not even going to put any effort into it personally. I'm just gonna have him deal with it. I figure I'll make a decent donation and call it good.
Hopefully he can get them to accept it
