Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Verle's landlord who passed away just over a year ago at 92 was a train engine mechanic. He would tell me stories

Depending on when he started, he'd have gone all the way from steam to diesel powered trains. That's quite a lot of change to experience.

My brother's wife's sister (I don't think that makes her my sister in law, as I'm not the one married to his wife) is a train engineer. She lives out your way. She makes mad loot doing her job.

I wouldn't think that job would be all that difficult

When he died guess who his daughter called to come comfort her?

Gues who she called for more comfort after the funeral.

I didn't even go to the funeral

LOL No, it's not too physically tough these days. It's a ton of responsibility and stress. While it's not all that hard, any deviation from the rules/regulations is damning. There's no such thing as an engineer that made repeated mistakes.

You also gotta know a whole lot, for the myriad of hings that can go wrong. But, the day to day operation is so mundane that you have to press a button every five minutes to prove you're not asleep. At the same time, when things go wrong they can go wrong REALLY badly.

I wouldn't want the job.
