Yeah, it should just be a mini barre. If I go back to my old habits, I fret it with three fingers. They're all crammed in there, with the middle finger being the top-most finger.
I've never played my A like that. I see Chris doing that, and he does it because he has a really hard time for some reason laying his fingers flat on the strings. He just simply can not play a C barred power chord, or B or D or any of them. I dont get but don't need to.
I can play it that way just fine - it's habit that makes me not do so.
The other one I'll work on is making my G chord without my pointer finger - as already mentioned.
He can't make a power chord? Like, a simple G 5th?

If he can't play the first, he's kinda fucked. It's not that complicated - check his fretting hand position and wrist angle. If it's the 2nd he can't play, it's just some practice tha the needs.
