Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Yeah, they ended up way behind schedule. The new system is in and not working properly. Plus someone killed a major fiber line somewhere else in the city - which took a couple of days to get repaired (which it shouldn't take that long).

But, the system we have here is pretty complicated and the new stuff they added has broken a bunch of other things.

We normally have tablets to order room service and shit like that. Nope... Those don't work...

Sounds like the project manager doesn't know what they are doing

Someone sure as shit fucked up.

It does sporadically work - but not really. The devices connect and there's then no internet - but sometimes you can connect your device and actually have a connection.

I remember once, I was at a hotel - a smaller hotel - and their network was out. I told 'em that I had a good chance at fixing it by just rebooting the routers, so they happily let me crawl up through the crawlspace above the rooms so that I could reboot the routers for them.

They did not have the local IP address (like 192.168.1.255), username, or password to do it remotely.

It did the trick. It took like 15 minutes of me crawling through the space above the rooms but it did work.

Anyhow, this system is a whole lot more sophisticated. It's a whole hospitality management system atop a mesh network - and then some. Ain't now way I'm gonna know how to fix this one. Plus, I'm too old to be crawling through the crawl spaces.

They really should have a room dedicated to the equipment needed for connectivity and run wires from there to all the access points. That equipment needs to be kept cool, and an attic is no place for cool temps, especially in the summertime
