Yeah we're going to have to take some time and figure it out
It's not as fun as jamming, but the tech needs to be nailed down if you want good recordings. I'm sure you were having fun, but the recording was just too muddy for my taste. The only thing that was close to clear was the pounding drum - and it's kinda hard to consistently play drums quietly. So, the loudness of the drumming ain't going away.
You can kinda play quieter but never really quietly.

Well, you shouldn't be offended or anything. You've been here long enough that I just straight up tell you the truth. Most newer folks I'd look for something positive to say instead, but not you... No, you've been here long enough!
I'd spend some time doing sound checks against the recording. Then, once you have it set up you can more or less remember the settings and put 'em back for the next time.
