Yeah he got paid on the 3rd, well this month he got it the 1st cause the 3rd was Sunday, but he is going to have to wait until My 3rd for any more money. I been telling him to buy the cigarettes and food that he needs right away at the beginning of the month because he has been running out of cigarettes and things like peanut butter and been asking others if they can get him some until the third. So I keep telling him to stock up and he wont run out. So hopefully he did that before his money got stolen
I realize this isn't nice, but he's a goddamned idiot.
Granted, he gets paid 'cause he's an idiot and that's just fine. I do not begrudge most welfare recipients and I'm glad they can get it.
But, no... He's an idiot for not having a payee. He's an idiot for keeping cash on him instead of using the card they get.
The dumb bastard should do the payee thing. He also shouldn't withdraw his money until he needs it. He should be using it sparingly from his card - and not withdrawing money that costs him things like ATM fees.
But, easily the smartest thing he could do is ask for a payee - by first admitting he's a goddamned moron.
(I've been someone's payee before, oddly enough. That's how I know about this sorta stuff.)
He usually goes to his bank and gets money orders for his rent and his phone and internet bills on pay day and then takes out some cash for beer and weed and food. He could just use his debit card for food and then it would be less likely for it to get stolen as they would need the pin. But he is an idiot. And he is incapable of supporting himself, unless he were to sell drugs or something like that where he doesn't have to do too much. But a job, no way he could cut it.
I'm perfectly okay with paying him to stay home. He can't work and would only be a negative to an employer. I'm actually pretty pro-welfare. Frankly, it's a needed service and anyone that doesn't realize this is a fucking moron. Also, it's amazing how many people who hate welfare vocally are people who receive some sort of assistance - be it tax breaks, subsidies, or outright government handouts.
Some of the most vocal anti-welfare people I've met are people on welfare who think that they deserve it but other people don't.
I pay a whole lot of money for taxes. You don't even want to know how much I pay in taxes. If you saw my tax bill and were obligated to pay it, you'd shit a brick or string up to avoid the penalties of not paying. That's just for a year's worth of taxes.
And, you know what? I don't mind. I don't even really complain about it. I pay what I fucking owe and move on with life. If you raise my taxes, it will do exactly nothing to change my lifestyle. If anything, I should probably be paying more in taxes.
As someone who spends enough in taxes...
Actually, let's do some math...
SSI (or SSDI, I never know the difference between them) pays like $800 a month - or about $9600 a year.
I moved so much money last year that I alone paid (counting all my taxes) for more than 100 people to stay home and do nothing. In fact, a calculator tells me I paid almost exactly for 125 people to collect social security disability income. (My tax burden for 2021 was about $1.2 - 'cause I moved a fuckton of money, collecting my profits from investments to buy cars - not all of that gets to be written off, but that's far better than 30% or so that I'd otherwise pay.)
So, I think I get to have a fucking opinion... I dare say my opinion is more valid than the shitstains that barely pay taxes or pay less in taxes than I spend in a month.
And, frankly, I like welfare being available - even for the people who abuse it. I don't want those fuckers in the workforce. More importantly, I don't want them to be so needy that they commit more crimes to pay for food and rent. I want them to have chances to improve themselves and I don't begrudge them a penny.
We pay far less for welfare than we pay for subsidies for the rich. That shouldn't be true.
