maybe he will learn a lesson but I doubt it
It's seriously a long time for him to go without money. It's the 5th and he gets paid on the 1st or the 3rd.
He needs a fucking payee, someone who gets the money on his behalf and then doles it out to him (after paying bills) throughout the rest of the month. They'll even help him save up for larger purchases.
But, assuming he's on SSI or SSDI, social security, then he gets paid on one of those two dates. That's 1/6 of the way through the month.
Seriously, get him a payee.
Yeah he got paid on the 3rd, well this month he got it the 1st cause the 3rd was Sunday, but he is going to have to wait until My 3rd for any more money. I been telling him to buy the cigarettes and food that he needs right away at the beginning of the month because he has been running out of cigarettes and things like peanut butter and been asking others if they can get him some until the third. So I keep telling him to stock up and he wont run out. So hopefully he did that before his money got stolen
I realize this isn't nice, but he's a goddamned idiot.
Granted, he gets paid 'cause he's an idiot and that's just fine. I do not begrudge most welfare recipients and I'm glad they can get it.
But, no... He's an idiot for not having a payee. He's an idiot for keeping cash on him instead of using the card they get.
The dumb bastard should do the payee thing. He also shouldn't withdraw his money until he needs it. He should be using it sparingly from his card - and not withdrawing money that costs him things like ATM fees.
But, easily the smartest thing he could do is ask for a payee - by first admitting he's a goddamned moron.
(I've been someone's payee before, oddly enough. That's how I know about this sorta stuff.)
