Hmm... Google the word 'supertron'. That's maybe your sound you're after.
Checked em out actually liked 2 others up there. Sound nice might even consider. Currently im considering a zexcoil thay does high and low inductance or that tribucker which would give alot of opts to. But that tv classic or that pual fidelity my hit the spot.
You can find 'em in Gretsch if you're looking for an OEM variant. They're punchy, especially through the mids. If you're going to record, they're a good choice as they can cut through the mix without a lot of post. They're a bit sparkly in the treble range, but it suits them well. The world needs more guitars with the supertron.
In my position, I don't get to play them enough. My primary job is to sound exactly like what you remember from the radio or album. As such, my sound is seldom my own (unless you check my original works). So, I play what the artist played. That's why I have a couple hundred (and then some) guitars, a hundred or so amps, and probably a few hundred effects pedals - mostly stored in plastic totes.
I'm lazy, but I've posted pics in past threads. I have a couple of rooms dedicated to this. I have one of, I think, the best gear collections on the planet. For example, I don't just own 'a' Martin D-28, I own a dozen from different eras. Yes, I have a '59 gold top - I have a few of them, including one signed by Les Paul himself. The list goes on, actually.
That's why/how I can recreate the tones required - at least when I'm home. I'll be headed back home soon enough. I'm missing the place.
