Those kinds of people get black flagged and not allowed back.
There are surprisingly few of them, considering how heated you can get while racing. The kind of racing I try to do is gentlemen racing.
Speaking of racing, I contacted the people at WRL (gentlemen racing series) and asked if I could bring my M6 and they pretty much laughed at me. The response was, "You'd need the world's biggest restrictor plate." It's a pain in the ass trying to find a duffer race that will allow my bigger race cars. I asked if I could bring a 911 GT Cup car, but they haven't answered yet. I can't actually find the rules. So, I doubt that'll be allowed.
They don't want you to embarrass them on the track!
Nope. They do not.
It's hard as fucking finding anything at the gentlemen level (series, not events - though events can be hard to find) that will let my big M6 into it.
I do have other cars that'd suit the various series, but I really want to take my M6 out on a few races. I don't even want to do the full series, just a few races. Fuck, I don't even care if they give me a 10 lap penalty to start the race and award me no points regardless of my finishing position.
You just want to race, to experience the thrill of the competition. Especially with that car. I know you could always do a track day and run it that way, but that's just not the same, is it?
