Cool. I see that you got it for less than half of the expected price. Hell of a deal

I dunno? I paid $225k after it crossed the block. My 200k bid didn't meet the reserve, but I was still able to purchase it after it crossed the block. (That's pretty common.) Their reserve was (I think - my memory may be faulty) 250k. We split the difference. I really only wanted it for the cultural significance.

I have no idea why it was so 'cheap'. It was MB's first foray into racing after killing like 50 or 70 people back in the fifties - when they put a car straight into the grandstand.

When I went to the meachun site the expected price said $400 - $475 K

I didn't actually look. LOL I went through my "paperwork" (disorganized text files) and got the link for you.

I just got off the phone with my lawyer. It seems the insurance company is now speaking my language and they want to settle with more favorable terms. Alternatively, I can take them to court if I don't like their terms.
