One of my friends, who has at least 7 OWI's already, recently came into some money and he told me that he wants to buy a 750HP mustang with his money.
He doesn't collect cars and he's not a trained driver besides driving himself to work and back. So I asked him why he would want a 750HP car, and he says it would be awesome. I'm told him yeah, it will be awesome until the first time he is drunk and wants to impress someone with it, then he will probably wreck it and get to spend the next five years in prison!
Yeah, he's gonna wreck it.
For a lot less, he can get one with like 350 HP - which is more than adequate for anything he can do with the car. It'll still roast the tires, shove you back in your seat, and go fast. The extra 400 HP just means he's going to crash faster.
He could learn more or less how to handle the car in a weekend, but something tells me he's not going to take lessons or ask for advice. People with that many OWIs aren't generally good at that whole thinking ahead thing.
He is the kind of person that if he were to be offered advice he would do the opposite just cause nobody is going to tell him what to do.
I tried to talk him into instead of a new 750 HP Mustang he should look into getting a 60's Jaguar Mark X, as it would be way cheaper and way cooler and he probably would not drive like a crazy maniac in that car but he would still get the attention he is looking for.
It's a fucking Mustang. Nobody is going to know/care if it's got 750 HP. They're just going to see 'yet another Mustang'.
If you're open to suggestions, I'd suggest not riding with them. That's how you end up with a broken femur.
