Hello everyone. Here is me and my buddy playing an old song that I'm not sure who did.

[–] 1 pt

It's a Van Zandt song from the late 70s, I'm pretty sure.

I should mention that I have no idea how long I'll be here tonight, nor how many tracks I'll listen to. Mr. Femur is REALLY grumpy today.

[–] 0 pt

time to amputate?

[–] 0 pt

I'm not sure they could really amputate it. They could cut it off, I guess - but the important painful bits are pretty well embedded within my body. It'd be one weird amputation.

And, I'm reasonably confident that that wouldn't help much. I might someday feel better (but there's a whole socket there that needs filling without cutting off a good portion of my pelvis) but I'd really not be able to do a whole lot.

Hey negro faguettes. Being formal.

Seen this crazy guitar on YT called the Lava 3. WTF. One of them carbon fiber things with all kinds of bells and whistles. You can record loops and it has preset loops and then you can play along with them.

Wild shit. Here's one video.

Have you seen the acoustic guitars with built in efffects - and no battery?

[–] 0 pt

Pretty cool. Seems like more of a toy than what I need it for and I can't get over the ugliness of it. If I ever see one at a store, I'll have to pluck around w/ it to form a better opinion. Cool vid though. Thank you

Hi guys. I hope everyone is well and rested.

Here's a song about something weird that happened a few years back. I think I may have shared it on that other site once.

And here's the story behind the song.

Replace your battery or alternator. Though all sorts of things can go unnoticed and draw power - like a short in the system.

(I read your story first.)

[–] 1 pt

I read the story second and I liked the song already!

Hands have hurt from hard labor last 2 weeks so havnt played but tonight percs and kratom im feeling good and hands are only lol

[–] 1 pt

My Kratom tolerance has gotten too high.

[–] 1 pt

Mine has as well between 12 and 18 grams a day yokes to much

[–] 0 pt

I take about 25 capsules a day.

I use the white, bought some red recently and 'nothing,' dunno why.

Why do I / we / people have to have vices...

Sigh.

[–] 0 pt

I listened to the first one. Sounds like you're having fun. sounds great

[–] 1 pt

I was much need time.

[–] 0 pt

time well spent

[–] 0 pt

I feel like ass today, so I'm just going to listen to the "Top pocket find" track.

I can relate to the discomfort, though I've not done any manual labor lately. I'm too old for that shit anyhow. Plus, I've lived enough for several lifetimes. I'm surprised my body functions at all.

[–] 2 pts

Noce selection top pocket was the first but camr out good i think. Trying level looper and output of guitar doing rhythm and solos so everything is even and i felt all 3 were more level to each other the. Normal

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, that's gonna take some practice to get those all even. Plus, you have to have a consistent attack (how you hit the strings to make them vibrate) because differences in the amount of vibration are also differences in the volume.

It takes some effort to get used to it. I've played with a looper quite a bit, but don't regularly need one while performing.

[–] 0 pt

Man I gotta give you credit. I worked construction and my hands hurt too, I didn't play at all.

[–] 0 pt

its hard but im slowly going to smaller strings to ease knuckle pain. i have to stretch fingers and wrist shoulders alot to loosening up and close to sweating and a opium high is the best time to play lol. one could skip the opium/derivative an use .2 of any ethnogen and wait hr then jam so hard.

Hello and welcome to another FNGT! Like normal, we'll go ahead and get you started.

I almost recorded something with my Chibson and Fender Mustang LT25, but I just couldn't sound like a beginner. I can't fake slow chord changes, or wrong fingers on the strings. I just can't do it consistently and well enough to make a track pretending to be new.

That said, I love my Chibson and I can't speak highly enough about the LT25. I like it so much that I am going to order a Windows (and I'm a dyed in the wool Linux user) laptop to manage it with and to do things like update the firmware. Amplifiers with upgradeable firmware?!? Who ever thought we'd be here someday?

So, I'm just going to pick something I like and drop it as a starter track:

I think this has only been shared just once and quite some time ago. It's Bach's BMV 235 arranged as a dance.

Rock on, Poalr Bears! Rock on!

[–] 2 pts

Absolutely beautiful. I would like to use this for a church edit for Mother's day. With your permission of course.

[–] 1 pt

Go for it.

Glad you like it.

[–] 2 pts

This is righteous and mellow and sweet and spicy and so, so smooth

[–] 2 pts

I think that's probably only been shared once, 'cause I had to upload it to the new site and I don't recall sharing it a second time.

It's a nice long piece, with some great variations. I am fond of it.

[–] 1 pt

It's great!

[–] 1 pt

One of these days gonna upload something, I do guitar (chords / rhythm only) and sing. I can hit all the notes of "He Ain't Heavy" but not any higher than that.

Can hit the notes of the ending of "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Wish I could sing higher, like Paul M. on "Oh Darling." Or the ending of "Can't Live" by that Nilson guy.

I'm nuts, I do Partridge Family to country to folk to mild rock, Sinatra and Elvis, all kinds of stuff.

[–] 0 pt

Absolutely! We'd love to hear it. You can do a lot with just a handful of chords and a good voice.

Friend of mine, great guitarist, in the most popular band in Houston back in the 70s.

Shot and killed himself on his birthday, cause he "was supposed to be a star by then."

SMH. An uplifting story. Not.

Most musicians are not sane people. The creative types, especially those who are obsessed enough to actually get good with their instrument, are quite frequently found with mental health issues.

I've been playing for more than five decades and performing for the overwhelming majority of it. I've played with people across this country and in many other countries. Many, many musicians have mental health issues. They're bat-shit crazy, as a general rule.

Finding the sane and stable ones is the key to having a functional band - and even then it's no guarantee - and then look at all the dysfunctional bands out there.

[–] 1 pt

You have to pay, to upload to that site you mentioned?

Is it easy?

I'll have to figure out how to do it, never done it, I'm sure it's easy, I can do other stuff.

Main thing is getting it uploaded, I know I can just copy and paste after I've done that, to share it.

Thanks!

[–] 0 pt

No, there are all sorts of sites to upload stuff for free.

You can record with just your cell phone - just learn to place it where it works best. This will take some trial and error.

And, you pretty much just pick an upload site - like SoundCloud or even HulkShare or even add a still image and upload it to YouTube.

Here is a song I wrote and recorded myself a while back about

[–] 0 pt

Well, it follows a fairly consistent theme in your music.

[–] 1 pt

I write what I know, what else could I write?

[–] 1 pt

Damned right.

I'm fading fast. Well, not fading so much as getting more uncomfortable and wanting to sleep to make it go away. Tomorrow will be better, ideally.
