time to amputate?

I'm not sure they could really amputate it. They could cut it off, I guess - but the important painful bits are pretty well embedded within my body. It'd be one weird amputation.

And, I'm reasonably confident that that wouldn't help much. I might someday feel better (but there's a whole socket there that needs filling without cutting off a good portion of my pelvis) but I'd really not be able to do a whole lot.

I would think they could just give you one of those hip replacements

Oh, they can do that. I just won't let them. There's only a small chance that it helps.

There's also one other surgery they can do - where they go back in and take out the hardware, filling the holes with some sort of cement. That too only has a small chance of helping.

In an ideal world, I'd try the latter and then the former if it didn't work. But, I'm a man of math... Those surgeries have similar odds of making things worse than they are now.

So, fuck that... I declined their offer to open me back up and hack away at me some more. No... No... Unless it's an emergency, I'm done getting my femur operated on. The recovery fucking sucks donkey balls - worse than any pain you can imagine. I'm not fucking going through PT again.
