Didn't a cranky grumpy old neighbor woman of yours pass away a year ago?
Are all your neighbors cranky and grumpy?
No? A nicer older dude died from a compilation of things back in like 2021.
And no... They're mostly nice.
The one who had the heart attack is quite a fucking prick. Well, not to me... Not anymore...
He's this crazy old, really brilliant in many ways, quasi-hermit. He doesn't have electricity and only bothered getting a phone because I had the phone company run lines for the duration of the road. Prior to that, he didn't even have a phone.
If he needs electricity, he uses a generator. Like, a really old - but effective affair.
He's the one who built my log-splitter. I've told you about my splitter before. It's hydraulic, powered from the PTO on my tractor, and can take a full 4' log.
I think he used to be a machinist, 'cause he certainly knows how and has all the tools to do so.
He pretty much hates everyone. He tolerates me, 'cause I'm not going away and I'll happily pay him for some work now and again.
Like, I had him come in and dial-in my planer (a woodworking tool that takes like an 18" board and planes one side at a time) and he left a bit frustrated that his tools would only let him get within 0.001" accuracy.
I remember you saying there was a mean tough cigar smoking old lady who lived in a cabin that had passed away. I thought it was you. I thought she lived on part of your land in the woods
I'm pretty sure you're mistaking me for someone else - but maybe conflating a few things.
I used to joke with one of the chicks that she could live on a corner of my property, and do those sort of things. But, I'm pretty sure she's very much alive, she never lived there, and that was way back on Voat.
We probably would have joked about her rolling cigars even. That sounds like something we'd have tacked onto the list of things she was supposed to do. She was mostly supposed to be the weird lady of the woods, to become something of a local legend. She'd even tell people their fortunes - but I think we decided she'd just be really cryptic in her fortune telling so that the fortune could be interpreted many ways....
That's the closest things I've got to that in my memory banks.
Now, I am drinking - but that's the closest I've got.
She isn't dead. She never lived here. I'd never actually let her live on my property for a whole host of reasons.
